On this page I list a number of resources that you may find helpful. Please bear in mind that I cannot take responsibility for the contents, and you must make your own mind up about them and decide for yourself if any of them are useful to you or not.

General
Mind publish a whole series of booklets on a large variety of topics. You can see the list on www.mind.org.uk and either print off a copy or buy one from mind.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists publish a lot of information about mental health issues at www.rcpsych.ac.uk

Relate www.relate.org.uk covers all kinds of relationship and family problems and also publish a number of very useful books.

SANE provide a wealth of information about all aspects of mental illness. Their web-site is www.sane.org.uk. They also operate a telephone helpline on 0845 767 8000, and an email support service via sanemail@sane.org.uk

Panic Attacks www.panic-attacks.co.uk gives information about panic attacks and how to control them.

Depression www.mind.org.ukand select depression, seasonal affective disorder, post-natal depression, or manic depression.

 

Children and Young People

www.childline.org.uk covers a wide variety of problems that affect children. The Helpline number is 0800 1111

www.nspcc.org.uk has advice on a wide variety of problems to do with having young children. There is a Helpline on 0808 800 5000
